Topics such as next-generation doctoring, unexpected crusaders of digital health and the significant powers of artificial intelligence are just a few of the focus areas attendees can expect at this year’s event. Digital Health Summit 2020 proudly welcomes speakers and panelists to the stage that are recognized as key players in the industry, including two sessions with the Food & Drug Administration (FDA). On Day 1, January 7th, join an intimate fireside chat with Amy Abernethy, Principal Deputy Commissioner, FDA, where she will “demystify” regulation. On Day 2, January 8th, Jeffrey Shuren (Director of the Center for Devices and Radiological Health, FDA) will deliver a special keynote discussing the strategic direction and oversight of safe and effective digital technology for patients and healthcare professionals.
The official 2020 kickoff session will offer a spotlight power panel to the stage with moderator Pamela Spence, Global Health Sciences and Wellness Industry Leader of EY. Spence will lead the conversation with Microsoft’s Global Chief Medical Officer and VP of Healthcare, David Rhew, VP of Global Product Strategy, and Head for Personalized Healthcare for Genentech, Ron Park; and Chairman of Cardiff Ocean Group, Donald Jones. This discussion will highlight how traditional health is being radically redefined by the explosion in health data, revolutionary sensors, 5G and artificial intelligence. Other anticipated sessions include Massachusetts General Hospital, Facebook, Akili, Best Buy, Rally Health, and AT&T.
All-new to this year’s Summit, attendees can grab complimentary breakfast before tuning into two headliner sessions at both Day 1 and Day 2 ‘breakfast sessions’, with doors opening at 8:15AM. Day 1’s breakfast session (breakfast sponsored by Facebook) welcomes Mayo Clinic, discussing the “Surging Currency of Voice Tech”; and Day 2’s breakfast session takes attendees “Behind the Scenes with Walmart Health’s Daring Disruptors.” This exclusive session introduces the disruptors who launched Walmart’s game-changing new health clinic.
Abbott’s Lisa D. Earnhardt, Executive Vice President, Medical Devices, will address the industry’s biggest drivers of disruptive technology, and how it’s redefining our approach to health, wellness and human performance during a Day 1 session titled “Proving the Impact of Transformative Technology.” Also, on Day 1, get up close and personal with Cigna as EVP & Global CIO Mark Boxer discusses the key forces driving change in digital innovation, specifically how the paradigm shift is creating a more personalized, data-driven approach to whole person health.
Emmy-winning Journalist, Katie Couric is set to moderate two sessions—first, she’ll lead a power panel titled, “What Matters Now: Digital Navigation,” taking place on Day 1 at 11:30 AM. Joining her are Rally Health’s COO Brenda Yang, plus TV Personality and Patient Advocate Maria Menounos. On Day 2, Couric will spark a provocative discussion joined by Shelly Ibach, President & CEO of Sleep Number Corporation exploring the challenges that consumers face in choosing effective solutions in an oversaturated market. Renowned Physician and Entrepreneur, Dr. Mehmet C. Oz, will return to deliver a keynote addressing how the latest consumer sleep technologies are proving to be a vital factor in enhancing medical outcomes.
